The Sanford Historic District encompasses the residential neighborhoods surrounding downtown that feature some of Central Florida's finest collections of historic architecture. These tree-lined streets showcase beautifully maintained and restored homes from the late 1800s through the 1940s, representing Sanford's heritage as a prosperous river port and agricultural center.
